about me
Hello! I’m a Korean-American illustrator from Los Angeles who loves creating characters, designing costumes, portrait making, and most of all: storytelling. Fashion and beauty have been a big part of my interests and identity, so I love designing characters and costumes that reflect that. Taking inspiration from fashion icons, current trends, and fashion history in order to convey a character’s self expression is something I’d like to see more in media, so that’s a part of the kind of work I want to make.
I take my work very seriously and I’m always thinking of the message I want to convey. Diversity, relatability, and nuance are very important to me in storytelling. As someone a part of several minority communities, I believe audiences deserve nuanced stories that are not only entertaining, but invoke a feeling of familiarity and understanding. Stories shape each generation of young people and I want to be part of the storytellers that make that happen.
But other than my dreams and aspirations, I love Tell Tale-style video games, cartoons, making jewelry, sewing, and collecting useless trinkets. I am most likely to be at home, but on occasion I will crawl out of my vampire den to go grab a boba.
